Pineda de Mar reduces the number of crimes during 2021

The Local Safety Board has analyzed the data of the municipality of 2021 and has approved the Local Security Plan. In the case of the Local Police, 52.19% of the actions correspond to planned surveillance actions, prevention of criminal acts and static control points.

Actions related to acts against heritage and identification work reach 17.54% while 5.64% correspond to interventions related to complaints and neighborhood conflicts. To the rest of the actions, actions with a lower percentage weight are added, such as actions related to the aid to citizens (2.70%), the consumption and possession of drugs (2.56%), etc.

Better signage: fewer accidents

In the 2019-2021 comparison, there have been 33% fewer traffic accidents, which is attributed to better road signs and increased controls by local police. As for criminal offences, there has been a decrease of 6 per cent. Robberies with force have decreased by -27% and those of violence and intimidation by -41%.

As for the arrests made by all police forces, they have increased by 13%. In this section it should be noted that the Local Police of Pineda de Mar has participated in 32%, 7% more than the Catalan average (which is 25%). The trend of constant decrease in home robberies in recent years has also been positively assessed. In 2015 there were 156 while in 2021 there have been 66. Regarding the data on violence in the home in 2020 there have been 55 complaints in the municipality, 5.9% more than the previous year while in Catalonia the increase has been 8.6%.

The JLS was chaired by the Councilor for Security of the City of Pineda, Sílvia Biosca, who was accompanied by representatives of the Local Police, Mossos d'Esquadra, National Police, Civil Guard, and the deputy to the head of the office of the territorial delegate of the Government of the Generalitat, Cristina Paraira.

The Local Security Plan of Pineda, now pending ratification by the Municipal Plenary, marks the roadmap to be followed in the coming years, in relation to the actions by the security forces and bodies operating in the territory.

Objective: to improve citizen security

The Plan developed in Pineda sets five main objectives: to improve in all areas citizen safety, road safety, all prevention in terms of safety in relation to gender equality, emergencies and civil protection, and the social and civic welfare of the municipality.

The Plan has been elaborated in a transversal way and has had the participation of Local Police, Mossos d'Esquadra, National Police, Civil Guard, Civil Protection and has also participated the neighborhood associations, agents of the economic and social sector of Pineda and representatives of the municipal groups that have representation in the City Council.
